European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)

What is ECDL?

The European Computer Driving Licence® (ECDL) is the world’s most sought after computer skills qualification.  More than 6 million candidates in 146 countries, and over 1 million in Britain alone, have completed the award.

The Tell Organisation prepares candidates for ECDL by developing the core skills for typical office computing tasks.  Our training is based on the standard range of Microsoft® programmes, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.

Why Tell?

Tell has helped over 600 people achieve ECDL in the last ten years.  Candidates come from multinational companies, the public sector, and a range of small companies.  We understand what employers are looking for from this qualification – greater personal effectiveness and staff productivity.

Our ECDL programme is tailored to this goal.  Clients tell us they have improved computing productivity by anything up to 30%!  The vast majority of computer users often go about standard tasks very inefficiently.  Typical jobs like creating documents, using databases and spreadsheets, and mail-merges take up a surprising amount of staff time.  Productivity savings in these areas are often significant.  Our training targets efficiency so that candidates produce results in much less time.  This means better quality and less costs for you.

Who is it for?

ECDL can improve personal effectiveness for anyone who uses a computer for at least 2-3 hours per day, is self-taught, or who has had little formal training since school.

There are no formal entry qualifications, but some basic experience of computing and access to Microsoft® Office applications are required.

Next ECDL course starts Wednesday, January 14, 2009

How long does it take?

A typical course is delivered over 18 weeks, with a half-day workshop each week.  This allows ample time for tuition, practice and formal exams.

Our courses have a maximum of 10 candidates, allowing high levels of individual tuition.  We also offer exceptional support for candidates who have fallen behind for whatever reason.  This leads to a very high test pass rate.
