Targetted Pathways to Apprenticeships

In conjunction with our partner organisation Skills Development Scotland, Tell is currently funded to offer a limited number of training opportunities to young people aged 16 – 19 years who have attained a good level of general education at school but as yet, have been unable to source a suitable employment and/or training opportunity.  Our Targeted Pathways to Apprenticeship programme (TPA) runs for a duration of up to 16 weeks and provides a training allowance of £55 per week + travel expenses in excess of £3.00.

Our TPA training & development programme provides personal guidance, support and training within a professional business environment leading successful participants to the achievement of the nationally recognised European Computer Drivers License (ECDL) Award from the British Computer Society.  As part of our programme of deliver, we also try to include work experience with a suitable employer.  Although we cannot offer any employment guarantees, what we can offer is an opportunity to participate in a course of training, which will include the following:

  • Structured IT training within a customised IT suite where the maximum ratio of Trainer to participant is 1 to 8
  • On successfully passing all course tests, attainment of the BSC ECDL Award, nationally recognised by employer as providing the skills and knowledge required to operate IT equipment and functions within most office environments
  • Relevant work experience with an employer who will provide course participants with an opportunity to learn and experience the world of work.
  • One to one guidance and support to assist participants to identify the most appropriate course of action for them to take on completion of their programme of training.
  • A training allowance of £55 per week + travel expenses (less the first £3.00)
