MA/SVQ Engineering Manufacturing level 3

bookthiscourse

Duration : Approximately 3 years

At Tell our approach to the delivery of Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) is to consult with you, the employer, to ensure that the Personal Training and Development programme suits your business needs and helps to provide you with the competitive edge you need to support your business growth.
Our SVQ at Level 3 in Manufacturing Engineering is assessed against a set of national standards and accredited by EMTA Awards Ltd (EAL).
To achieve the SVQ at level 3, the apprentice is required to complete the 3 mandatory units detailed overleaf, and an appropriate number of optional units chosen from the attached summary list.  The number of optional units required is dependent upon the pathway chosen by you, the employer.

EMPLOYERS ROLE:

While in the workplace your company will be responsible for providing the apprentice with the appropriate practical skills and knowledge training relating to your business.
You will be required to allow the apprentice to further enhance their training by providing them with the opportunity to apply their learning in practice i.e. undertake manufacturing tasks using a variety of methods and equipment.
You will also be required to allow your apprentice access and time to meet with their assessor in the workplace

TELL’S ROLE:

Your apprentice will be supported by a Tell Assessor during 1:1 guidance sessions in the workplace.  During the sessions our Assessor will provide or undertake the following:

  • Directly observe your apprentice in the workplace undertaking manufacturing activities associated with their role
  • Produce written observation reports of the tasks undertaken by the apprentice, the skills and knowledge they demonstrated and the national standards met
  • Provide guidance and support on the types of naturally generated evidence associated with the apprentice which can be used for their portfolio
  • Provide them with guidance and support on the knowledge and understanding they must be able to demonstrate as part of their role, and how this can be gathered i.e. written questions
  • Assess evidence produced by the apprentice and advise them if it meets the national standards set and if not, what they must do to generate the evidence required
  • Inform the apprentice when units have been achieved

For those apprentices under the age of 20 years, the costs include awarding body registration and certification fees, 1:1 guidance and support sessions, formative and summative assessment, and verification will be met via the governments Modern Apprenticeship programme.
