bookthiscourse

Duration: Approximately 15-18 months

At Tell our approach to the delivery of our Modern Apprenticeships/Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) is to consult with you, the employer, to ensure that the Personal Training and Development programme suits your business needs and helps to provide you with the competitive edge you need to support your business growth.

The SVQ at Level 3 in Dental Nursing and the Professional Development Award are both accredited against a set of National Occupational Standards set by the Dental Profession and accredited by City & Guilds. The Professional Development Award is achieved on successful completion of a formal written Independent Exam which is marked by professionals from the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses. Successful achievement of both the SVQ level 3 and the Professional Development Award will allow participants to be registered with the General Dental Council as a qualified Dental Nurse.

To achieve this SVQ at level 3, candidates are required to complete the 11 Mandatory units details below. Candidates will be supported by their assessor during 1:1 meetings, either at Tell House or the candidate's workplace, to gather evidence and complete the work for each unit, and in the building of their Portfolio.

Candidates will also attend weekly off-the-job training sessions at Tell House to assist them to develop the underpinning skills and knowledge required of their job role and to prepare them for The Professional Development Awards formal written exam. These training sessions are traditionally delivered on an evening basis, from 6 - 8.30pm and over a 12 - 15 month period. The exam takes place three times per year at Tell House.

Prior to commencing the programme, candidates will receive an Induction consisting of an introduction to the Awards and how their programme of training and assessment will be delivered. Thereafter, the candidates will attend the weekly off-the-job training sessions, delivered by suitably qualified and experienced staff. They will also receive Personal Development, Assessment, Guidance, Support and Feedback sessions with their Assessor, in relation to the requirements of the SVQ level 3.

Costs include awarding body Registration, Exam and Certification fees, off-the-job Training Sessions, Assessment, and Verification by The Tell Organisation's experienced and fully qualified staff.
