The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 4 in Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10 recognises the knowledge and skills required from candidates working in management within the care sector. It has been designed to provide a robust and certificated qualification which equips individuals with a range of knowledge, skills and values to enable them to take on the leadership and management challenges facing care services today.
The qualification covers areas such as managing and developing yourself and your workforce within care services, leading and managing practice that promotes the safeguarding of individuals, health and safety in the work setting and effective communication systems and practice. This SVQ has been designed to meet the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements for care managers.
To achieve this qualification, candidates must complete 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units. Candidates completing a Professional Apprenticeship at this level must also complete between 2 and 5 Career Skill Units with a minimum of 20 credits.
